Please share your thoughts

Welcome.  This site is designed for my friends in the Southern Tier of NY (Corning, Elmira, Big Flats, Watkins Glen, etc.) and Boynton Beach , FL . But much of what I’m presenting is good to all with Parkinson’s Disease

Very briefly (see my other website, www.gsfriedman.com for more detail), I’ve had Parkinson’s (complicated by spinal stenosis and degenerative spine  issues) since 2004. So that’s 16 years.  We retired 5 years ago because we were afraid I might make mistakes due to typing errors among other reasons.

We started traveling around 2005 and have taken about 30 land and cruise trips since then. However I injured my back (possibly due to dyskinesias ) around 2014 and was so bad that at least two trips I had to use a wheelchair. Thanks to great neurological physical therapists and trainers  I’m now doing great.  I’ve been doing advocacy for Parkinson’s Foundation and other volunteer work (Hadassah) and socializing more (bridge, mahjong, etc).  Most days I can meet people without having to explain that “I have Parkinson’s”

So this website was started to help the Montour Falls based support group (the waterfall is in the middle of town) but it includes lots of other information and references as well.

Exercise, Research and Use a doctor who specializes in Parkinson’s (Movement Disorder Specialist) to Live Well with this disease.
